Have you heard about the every 6 month shot for Osteoporois?
Prolia™ is a prescription medication used to treat osteoporosis in women after menopause who:
- have an increased risk for fractures
- cannot use another osteoporosis medicine or other osteoporosis medicines did not work well
How Prolia™ works.
It helps stop the development of bone removing cells before they cause bone loss.
Why Prolia™ is different?
Prolia™ is the first and only prescription medication for postmenopausal osteoprosis that is given as a shot under the skin every 6 months in your doctors office.
It’s not a pill, so it doesn’t go down your esophagus or through your stomach.
Ask your doctor is right for you...
Do not take Prolia™ if you have been told by your doctor that your blood calcium level is too low.
You should take calcium and vitamin D as your doctor tells you to while you receive Prolia
