Dr's. John Fifer, David Heligman, Ed Gomez, Robert Follweiler and George Markovich are board-certified orthopaedic surgeons by the American Academy of Orthopaedic or Osteopathic Surgeons. They are medical staff members at Lee Memorial Hospital, Gulf Coast Hospital, and some are credentialed at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples. Dr's. Fifer, Heligman, Gomez, Markovich, Hood, Follweiler and Klieman are active in local sporting groups, including little league, hockey, high school football and soccer. Participating in local youth activities is one way they contribute to the community's well-being and overall good health. They also participate in Senior health events and educational seminars for the community.

Our doctors also are trained in sports medicine. This advanced training enables them to provide many different medical treatments that help ease sports-related pain and injuries while speeding recovery.

Dr. Richard Hood is a board-certified physician in Pain Management by the American Academy of Pain Management and a qualified Anesthesiologist, certified by the American Board of Anesthesia. Dr. Hood is an affiliate staff member at Lee Memorial Hospital. He is an excellent addition to the services already provided to our patients at the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Kleiman is a Board Certified, residency trained Podiatric surgeon. He completed a three year residency program in the Philadelphia, PA area for Foot and Ankle surgery. Dr. Kleiman will do surgery at Gulf Coast Hospital, Lee Memorial Hospital and Riverwalk Surgery Center. He will practice at both FM and Estero Locations. Dr Kleiman is a panel physician at Lee Wound Care in Fort Myers providing comprehensive wound care services of the foot, ankle and leg. He provides foot care at several Lee County Nursing Facilities.
