Our Services

Physical Therapy

The Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of physical therapy to the list of comprehensive orthopaedic services offered by the Institute. Located at their Estero office, this state of the art rehabilitation center provides patients with convenient and comprehensive rehabilitation services. Our licensed physical therapists provide a variety of rehabilitation services for a wide range of orthopaedic disorders. They work closely with the physicians at the Institute to assist each patient in achieving their physical therapy goals.

Physical therapy services consist of a wide range of treatment including strengthening, stretching, massage, cold, heat, instruction in posture and body mechanics, balance training, sports training, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound, among others. These treatments assist in restoring joint mobility, muscular strength, decreasing pain and dysfunction, improving posture, and increasing independence with daily tasks. Physical therapy is often prescribed by physicians following surgery to ensure that patients regain full function and independence following surgery. Physical therapy can also be beneficial prior to surgery to maximize joint mobility and muscular strength to ensure optimal recovery following surgery. Physical therapy may also be beneficial in improving function and decreasing pain with orthopaedic conditions that do not require surgery.

Here at the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine we strive to provide patients with all of the latest treatment options including physical therapy. The addition of physical therapy services to the Institute along with the extensive orthopaedic services offered by the Institute provides patients with a "one stop shopping" experience for all of their orthopaedic needs. Thank you for you interest in physical therapy services here at the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. If you have questions, please contact the physical therapy department at 239-425-6909.
